Diamond Park Standardbreds are a small team in the Hawkesbury who showcase the beautiful versatility of the Standardbred around the show circuits in NSW.

 

We are extremely passionate about the breed and their willingness to learn new things and we are striving to break the stereotyping of the breed we love.

 

We have hand picked some very special horses that have retired from racing to join our team. These horses are extra special in their looks and their abilities to excell outside of racing, so they have become our advocates for this wonderful breed.

 

Standardbreds can and do excell in other disciplines besides harness racing. The DO canter , DO jump and DO it well. Their willingness to learn and their easy going natures make them perfect horses to work with and retrain. Whether its in the Show ring , Endurance , Dressage , Eventing or just pleasure horses, they are slowly showing the Equine World they can achieve anything.

Most standardbreds are very level headed and even after years of harness racing can be easily broken to saddle and retrained into a completely different discipline without much fuss at all. They are extremely giving horses and give so much back for just a little love and encouragment.

 

The Standardbred Pleasure & Performance Horse Association of NSW has some wonderful horses looking for homes through their adoption program. Adopting one of these beautiful horses gives them a chance at a better life after racing and will make way for another to be given a second chance.
